The YMCA by my house offers a class. Is it fun? Is it a good work out? What about pilates? I am looking for something different other than just my usual cardio routine. Thanks.

Hi - Belly dance can be a nice change from traditional exercise. It can give a total body workout. There are varieties of dance, so even within belly dance you can't get bored. It is fun - it's for women of all ages and shapes and sizes. I'm not sure about Palates. Have fun!

It'll be easier for you to do the belly dancing. I tried pilates & almost fell on my butt. Both are good workouts & I enjoy belly dancing a lot. I have tons of fun with belly dancing. It feels good, I have more energy & my arthritic knee even tolerates it.

i do belly dancing. its really hard at first but once u get into it its really fun

Yes, go for it. It's extremely good exercise. And you can also entertain your spouse or partner with it, lol.
