Not everyone, but A LOT of them are. When I first started on here most people were nice,mabye a little sarcastic but it seems now when I ask questions there are a few that answer that are unjustifiably mean??what is the point in that, why be mean????

Most people that are mean, act that way because they have low self-esteem. They are probably the first to criticize and can't handle criticizm themselves.
More often than not, they have no idea on any part of the subject and this is their way of venting their frustration over their inability to participate in the discussion.
It's like the little child who is making a bid for attention by acting up.
There's still a whole bunch of nice folks out here. It's probably best if you ignore the few children and focus on those that really work with you.

I agree with you. But I've noticed a lot of new people on here lately. Plus you also have to factor in all the kids that are here.
They think they're being " witty " or just " funny ", but it couldn't be more the opposite
I know the " just for fun " questions when I see them, or I try to discern them from the sarcasm anyway.
Just ignore those. They're looking for attention, trying to make themselves feel better about their own short comings.
And, if you see them answering one of your own questions, just give them a thumbs down, and keep going. That's all the acknowledgment they need!
But remember, there are still a lot of nice people on here too !
Definitely enough to stay here for !!!

Not all answers are directly proportionate to every question. But first, the Anatomy of a question must be examined.
What is a "question?" This is weird because one is forced to use the very entity being examined to examine the question of what a question is. This is an indication that there is something lacking in man's logic or his communication systems or both or something else.
The answer is within the answer...never the question. For if we answer before we are even asked, the answer is already there; isn't it? The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind, the answer is blowin' in the wind.

Yea I agree with a few answers. It's because they're anonymous so you can't go after them. And yes, some people have to resort to being mean to strangers to make themselves feel better. So sad. But try not to let it get you down. The majority of answer on here are good and make you think. :-)

I've noticed the same thing, when I first got here everyone was nice and now all they do is report me. Some people are just really unsatisfied with their lives and are trying to bring others around them down with them.

probably because they have nothing better to do. Also, they don't have to meet you face to face. People are way more catty when they can still remain anonymous. They might be someone next to you in the grocery line or something. Then they would be nice.

Im new here, like 5 minutes new here.... but people are mean because they have miseable lives, and they're trying to make other people feel just like them....

they say it's in their nature, but i think it's cuz they can hide behind their computers and be mean and never have to deal with people. they're really being childish and heck they maybe be children far as i know.
