I never answer but still he calls and calls and calls. Does this happen to you? How can I dump him for good?

I thought I was on the do not call list. Maybe I should double check.

To the fellow who eats rabbit ears....I have cat ears so keep away.

If you're serious, it's undoubtedly a telemarketer. Answer the phone, and once he starts his pitch, ask him to hold for just a moment, but don't come back. If he has to hold till he hangs up, he'll take your name and number out of the computer that dials you. Boiler rooms depend on volume and won't put up with someone who wastes their time. Also, if and when you get calls and no one is there, it's a telemarketer checking to see what time of day you answer so as not to waste time on non productive calls. When it happens, press the pound key 7 or 8 time as rapidly as you can. It confused the computer and it will kick your number out.

Before the Do Not Call List, I bought an item called a Tele-Zapper. Every time you answer, or your message machine answers, it sends out the three-note code for "number disconnected". Calling machines know this code and DELETE numbers from their lists that produce the tones. After about two months, our call volume went from several a day to one or two per month. We actually stopped using it after a year (the tone can get annoying).
We signed up for the do not call when it was first offered. That really worked well. Last time we moved, we paid (gleefully) for an unlisted number. Three layers of protection is what it takes!

For this particular pest, I agree with the other answer; put him on hold.

If you think it's a telemarketer, you could try registering your numbers on the government's National Do Not Call List. You can Google it and register online. It has worked pretty well for me.

I think you should get yourself on the "Do not call list" It's your best option. Your second option is to have that number blocked by your phone company.

Good Luck
