I am a Lib Democrat Councillor and although my party wants to fully engage with Europe I actually prefer to support YOU.

I agree....even the European 'rag' is offensive to me.

Why? One's a democratic institute which the UK can leave at any time by repealing laws, the other was the symbol of a pack of egomaniacs bent on world domination.
As far as I'm concerned this is so picky, that you could bring in the offence that the Union flag and the star spangled banner being flown in Baghdad causes into this, or how about this the offence caused by the Union flag being flown outside police station in Nationlist parts of Northern Ireland, which is very offensive given the famine and lack of an apology now and prevention when it occured.
Before anyone complains about my use of the term Union flag, the flag is only known as the Union Jack at sea.

I can understand your feelings of distrust and dilution of the UK as a sovereign state, and there is a legitimate argument against the increasing movement towards a federal state of Europe to which most people of any individual state may have objections.
However, to compare the EU flag to that of Nazi Germany, would seem to be wholly inappropriate at best, and ignorant at worst, considering the founding treaties of the EU as signed by the original member states and agreed to and subsequently adopted by to date 25 member states, were at there core, entered into to prevent a recurrence of the type of regime that could be found in Germany in the 1930's and to specifically prevent further war within Europe by promoting common interest and cooperation.

I don't think you should compare the two they represent two totally diferent cultures.

I look upon the Eu flag in the same way as I would A BP or Shell flag flying outside a garage.

The union flag (Jack) represents my roots, emotions and personality and I do not see other flags ever invading that space within me

Why? They're not even close to each other-- The EU flag is one of unity of several countries. The Swastika is one that represents a regime of hate and evil.

Why, the EU flag symbolises countries working together to better the lives of their citizens.

The Swastika symbolised a movement that wanted world domination, at the cost of wiping out a whole race.

The EU ideology is a lot less offensive, and one we should embrace.

I can't understand where you're coming from. The EU flag is a flag of unity whereas the swastika implies oppression and domination. We entered the EU of our own volition, we weren't forced to.
Methinks you are too passionate about things you don't yet understand.

Don't worry, I'm sure that when England surrenders her sovereignty to the EU Manifesto... er Constitution, then it will be a criminal offense to speak against the EU.

i agree. the swastika represented so much corruption, hatred and domination. the eu, to me represents similar corruption and domination, just slightly less hatred. the principal however is the same- brainwashing the public into believing and following the eu policies, losing our national identity and becoming a society dominated the sub-cultures and corruption.
i can see what your saying and completely agree with you.
