No, it doesn't sound like you'll be in labor anytime soon. Your baby is just in the head-down position, and that's good! My baby has been head-down during my entire pregnancy. They first noticed it was like that during the 19-week ultrasound. I'm 9 months now and being induced tomorrow.

No it doesnt imply labor soon. If you reach in yourself you could feel it too. You can feel it "jump back" when you poke it. Its amazing and quite strange at the same time. She would of let you know if she thought u would be laboring soon and since you are still so off from your due date she would of made a big deal about it and put you on bedrest. Next time ask if you are dialated or effaced and what position the head is in. When the head comes down to 0 then your body is prepping to deliver. In my case I was dialated to 4cm, 90% effaced, head in 0 a month before my due date and I got put on bed rest. Good luck!

Well it is awesome to know that the baby's head is down, it COULD mean impending labor, but probably not. Something like 70% of first time moms go overdue. Good luck to you though!

at seven months the baby turns into position to get his or herself ready for birth, this doesnt neccessary mean that the baby is ready to come out but if the doctor tells you that the baby is moving lower this could cause pressure on your cervix and cause your cervix to dillate but dont worry until the doctor tells you that your baby is moving more downward that is the sign that the baby could be born early hope you have a healthy baby! good luck

Could be; the baby's obviously turned to the head down position. Looks like your Dr. would have told you what to expect.

No, It just means the chances are good that your baby will not be breech at delivery time, once you are this far along, it is rare for the munchkin to turn back over again, so that is one less thing to worry about!
