Francesca, no one that I have ever heard of has a monarch butterfly for a pet, you cannot domesticate insects!!!! It will die without the ability to fly so why not put it out of its misery and kill it.

more than likely your cat did more damage to the butterfly than you can see, he will probably die sorry, but that's nature.
