Try plugging in an electric insect repellent outside of the house. It emits this ultrasonic sound that humans can't hear but bugs hate. It worked on pests but I'm not sure about crickets. It's not very expensive (around $10 at Home Depot).

I'm afraid you are at a loss with that. You will have to complain to GOD.Try earplugs,a "white noise" machine, a small fan or air cleaner in your room. Are you a light sleeper to the point that crickets actually keep you awake?

HELLO!!!!!
Have any of you read the book "Silent Spring" by Rachel Carson? Get ear plugs, turn a fan on or try white noise and be thankful you have crickets to listen to.
PS do not visit the tropics - it is noisy 24/7 with the sounds of nature.

Spray the bushes around your house with a tabasco-water mix... 1 tablespoon tabasco to 20 oz water.

The tabasco will repel about any insect, including crickets, and won't kill or harm anything in the process.

Good luck!

I hate them too! They eat a lot of stuff that would be surprising! Use Moth Balls, they hate the chemicals and Boric Acid Powder also works.

Are they in the house? Find out how they are getting in, and stop it. Check the dryer vent to see if this is where they are coming in. If so, change the vent cover to one that closes when not in use.

The sounds crickets make are beautiful. Also Katydid's and Grasshoppers. This time of year is prime mating season for insects (like Spring is for birds) and they are calling to attract mates. Listen & enjoy.
