Hey all,
I was curious as to how many people have had bad experiences with UPS. I have a couple friends from school who work there and they have repeatedly warned me away from using UPS to send anything important. They said no one cares if they smash boxes, and will occasionally throw boxes around just to amuse themselves.
For my story, I ordered a very hard to find pair of speakers from a store online. It took me a while to find them, and when I did, they sent them to me via UPS. A week passes... no speakers.... another week goes by. No word. Finally, they add a message to my order status. "Package destroyed in shipment. Returning to sender."
So after two weeks of waiting, I find out UPS smashed them. Then, I find out that those had been the last two the store had in stock. Lucky me.

UPS droped and broke 4 straight shipments of mine. They wouldn't pay for 3 of them, and the one that they did pay, they paid the other person, not me, the person who paid for it....
Good luck getting any support or service from these guys...
I will never use ups again.

My wife had a package delivered to a location she was giving a lecture. When it arrived half the contents were GONE!
UPS wanted witnesses to state that she hadn't removed the items at either end or they wouldn't pay up (and there were people who were there to say so), were asking for a itemized list (which she had) and only AFTER all of that that they were willing to pay ANYTHING.
We will NEVER deal with them again.

Never a problem with UPS. I have had the same two drivers for 3 years now and i get a ton of stuff delivered. Never a broken or late delivery. Now FedEx they blow!

actually, i have had only good things from ups. it is fed ex i had trouble with. i never received a package, and then when i called the company, they said fed ex couldn't deliver it becuase it was an unknown address to them. so they shipped it ups and we had no problem. there are bad guys at all jobs. but then there are really good ones too.

I have, and it usually boils down to one person at UPS stores.
It seems like the hiring process does not filter out marginal
employees.

I have had plenty of trouble with UPS.
They do not want to pay even when you purchase insurance!

I've never had any problems with UPS, only their competitors.
