Why is everyone so stupid (asker - I am not including you there). LimeWire is NOT illegal, and does NOT give you malware. It CAN be used to download music and share it illegally, but there are legitimate uses for it as well. And as for people saying it ruins your computer - yeah sure if your r*tarded. I can confidently say that I will NEVER EVER get any malware from LimeWire - only idiots get trojans and the like from LimeWire because they think that they can get a 3 minute mp3 song that only takes up 70KB or a full copy of GTA San Andreas in 750KB or even 0KB: the only way to get malware from LimeWire is if you have no common sense and download the smallest file possible rather than being intelligent and looking for the realistic file sizes.

But back to the question asked... I just took a look at that news article someone posted and I really hope it is fake because the music industry has just made an *rse of itself - LimeWire (the program) is not illegal and does not encourage illegal sharing of copyrighted music (it even makes you confirm this before downloading) - however it is POSSIBLE to do this illegal activity using LimeWire to help you along the way; but does that mean the people who make CD burners should be sues because they allow people to pirate CDs? NO. Bullsh*t as far as I am concerned.

Limewire is illegal because it breaches copyright so probably will be sued by some music mogul or other.
Don't worry though, there will be a legal free music site soon...
