I'm a senior in high school, taking some intense AP classes, my other classes also demand alot of work outside of school too. I'm in band at school, concert, marching, and jazz I'm taking an advanced Theatre Production class which involves intense work to produce the play. I was just cast in a play that requires a serious time commitment both in and outside of rehersal. I have rehersal sun-thurs. from 6-9 which is right when I usually work. I just started a new job and i can only work on days when I don't need to be at rehersal (not often) and I don't have a football game or band show. I also have band rehersal after school and I'm in a very serious relationship, with a boy who I love very much, but because of my schedual don't get to see as much as I'd like. Obviously I'm very busy. When I get home at about 930 each night I have hours of homework and don't get to bed LATE. I'm stressed ,could use advice. I am not willing to drop any of this stuff. I still get A's but I also get sick.

Today, I don't have rehersal, work or school. Just homework. You see I'm very sick today.

You are AMAZING. You should be very proud of youself for your ability to juggle so many important things and to still be an A student.

Try writing a "BattlePlan" every night before you go to bed. This is simply a list of things you will do the next day. It's kind of like what generals do when they are planning a war. Every detail is planned out. I try to write mine in sequence. For example, 1. Wake up at 7:00am 2. Check e-mail. 3. Call Mom 4. Shower and dress for Job interview. 5. Audition: 9:30am-be 15 minutes early. And so on. I put a little line next to each item and then as I complete my list throughout the day, I write a "done" in the line. Anything that didn't get done that day goes on the next day's list. I find that the more I have on my list, the more I get done. This also gives you a sense of accomplishment as you finish each item. This also gives you your schedule on paper in front of you-include finishing things when you are supposed to, like don't hang around after rehearsal. You can't! You mark off your done, and leave at your scheduled time. Don't worry, you will be admired for it!

You need to schedule in boyfriend time, study time, rehearsal time, your classes. Just everything. By writing it down, it puts some order into the confusion of all those things floating around in your head that you have to get done. Also, you will find holes in the schedule to get more things done, or to simply relax. Once it's all on paper, it's just easier. You could do it in the morning, but I found it far more effective if you do it at night before going to bed. Just battle plan out the whole next day. Then, those thoughts are on a paper on your desk instead of spinning in your head as worries. You will sleep faster and better. Plus, when you wake up, you are in the spin, and it's harder to remember everything or you could be interrupted while trying to write down your schedule.

Try this first. BP at night before going to bed. Hope this helps!

I don't know what to suggest besides dropping a few activities. If you are getting sick you might need to consider this. How long are you going to be able to keep up at this pace? Good Luck!

There is no answer. Life has these choices. It will not stop.
You choose your life. You choose to burn the candle at both ends.
You bear the consequences.
