Don't find anything on DaVinci and soul mate theory - unless this is tied up with the whole "DaVinci Code" nonesense, which was shown to be based on 100% lies anyway. Here is what I found on SOUL MATES:

Plato, who believed one soul splits into a male and female half in order to incarnate on earth, first presented the twin flame soulmate theory. Plato theorized that earth was full of such duality, such as black and white, good and bad, male and female. He thought that each soul born on earth had to split into two halves prior to birth to be part of the earth experience.

The popular notion of KARMIC SOULMATES are those that are with you so that both of you can work out issues together. Typically, these are deep relationships that have key lessons for both parties to learn. Many times the hallmark of these relationships is a lot of chaos and strife. Karmic lessons are said to be over when the lessons are learned, and there is no more animosity or anger projected at the other person. The key is forgiveness. Karma is released when you love the other person unconditionally in spite of their shortcomings.

DHARMIC SOULMATES are considered to fit into the role of helpmates. These are the people you go into business with or who help you along your life path. These people are recognized because you have an almost instantaneous draw to them, like you have known them forever. You find yourself able to “click” with these people, yet you may not know anything about them.

There are two types of people in this world, those who believe in soulmates and those who do not. The soulmate believers believe in soulmate theory while people from the other group believe in work-it-out theory.
Soul Mate versus Work-it-out (first statement is Soul Mate, second is Work-it-out)
There is one (or very few) right person(s) for me. There are many people with whom I can be happy with.

Love is discovered. Love is built over time.

The right person is ideal or close to perfect for me. Person is not expected to be a perfect fit.

Finding the right person is the most important factor in a successful relationship. Effort is the most important factor.

Passion is of great importance. Passion is relatively unimportant.

People are hard to change. People can change.

If a soulmate believer believes he/she is with the right person, he/she is more satisfied with the relationship than a work-it-out believer. Soulmate believers who do not think they are with the right one are less satisfied than work-it-out believers.
