if you have nice skin,i would say just to use lipstick and mascara to add color to your face. once you start putting foundation on and powder your skin will get used to the color..that when you have it off you will look yellowish and NOT natural...which is not good,as far as braking out YES! it can cause breakouts if you use the wrong makeup for your skin, ALWAYS remember to wash your face before bed that will reduce the possibilities of aging and acne..
I started putting foundation on my face when i was 13 and I'm 24 now and I wish i would had waited,my skin is not nice without foundation or powder and I HATE IT!

No, makeup does not ruin your face. However, you will want to be choosey about which kinds you use. Look for products that say "oil free." Covergirl actually has a makeup that's called Clean Makeup--it prevents breakouts from happening. The biggest rule of wearing makeup is to be responsible--wash your face every night before going to bed. If you don't, your face will be more likely to break out. Another tip is to start LIGHT--maybe try somthing that is called "tinted moisturizer." It is like foundation, but lighter. Hope this information helps and GOOD LUCK!

Break out ugly? I have never heard that phrase. Foundation can cause you skin to break out if it is oily and clogs your pores, and especially if you do not completely clean off your face before bed and in the morning. But, some people are just prone to acne and break out anyway. Many males get acne and seldom wear makeup. If you have even-toned skin, don't bother with makeup -- your skin will love you for it. The more chance your skin gets to breathe, the better.
Now, realize that our opinions will not sway your mother. If she is trying to convince you not to wear it, consider that she may have learned a few things while she has been on this earth, and she is just trying to help you.
If you MUST wear foundation, be sure to pick oil-free or it should say non-comedogenic on the back label, and that means it doesn't promote acne. But, you still need to wash it off daily.

some makeups can harm your face... some have sertin chemicals to react in a way with your face. But all in all most of the new age makeup out there is safe and not (thank god) tested on animals. Its all human testing researchers have been doing for years. Some of the old school makeup can cause some harm to your face. Basicly stating stick with the new line of makeup products and you should do A ok.

Are you sure you are old enough to wear make up? Cos the way I see, you can't even spell! Oh my goodness. Well young one, basically, make up does not exactly ruin your face, it may cause you to break out a little if you just start using it, or if your skin tends to be oily.
But then again, you are going to break out while you go through puberty, so what the heck right? And if you still so afraid about it, just use lip gloss. It won't hurt you that way.

Some make up does have too many chemicals in it that can cause skin cancer and other acne break outs
Mary Kay's goal is to create make up that does not hurt the skin but protects it... we don't know of 1 person who has used mary kay consistently that has gotten more break outs (may during first week but will go away) or skin cancer

No you just have to have the right make up for you. You can get breakouts if you wear foundation that has oil. Youre supposed to wear oil-free foundation. Then you wont get pimples.Tell your mom that. Look for an oil free foundation. And mascara and eyeshadow and stuff doesnt do anything bad.

Use a moisturizer first, then let it dry, your skin will soak up the lotion instead of makeup, this will also help with wrinkles later on in life, plus your foundation goes on smoother and your face is less dry.

Yes, it's sooooo true. Have you ever seen actors or actresses without their makeup? They look horrendous!!! That's because they put on makeup too much. If I were you, make everythin simple. Some mascara and lip gloss.
