All rodents display testicles that are oversized (per our standards). This is because rodents spend their entire lives concentrating on procreating (having babies), and as such, the males need to have a sufficient amount of sperm to impregnate a LOT of females at any given time. As such, their testicles are extremely large in order to house the quantity of sperm needed for them to sire considerable amounts of offspring.

So, yes, it's normal. You'll notice upon looking at ANY male rodent, that the testicles are particularly large. Prey species whose sole purpose in life seems to be to have offspring and LOTS of them, will display that same trait. ;)

Yes, their... male parts are exceptionally large. My mammalian bio textbook actually had a chart of testes mass in proportion to full body mass, and a wild species of hamster had the largest proportion of all the mammals.

hamster and other animal along that line do have large testicle for their size. I thought my guinea pig was abnormal but the vet checked him out and said that was normal for animal of his kind
