Oregon - we passed a law legalizing physician assisted suicide for terminally ill people, but they, the Bush administration in particular, are doing everything they can to keep doctors from being able to prescribe lethal doses of medication.

I live in Indiana. One issue that the state has gone through was the Major Moves bill that leased out our one toll-road to a foreign consortium, giving the state several billion dollars while tolls will most likely rise. The issue that has been going on is the I-69 extension southwest of Indianapolis, which is supposed to be part of a NAFTA highway. There's been a lot of controversy about varying possible routes and environmental impact. Now that the state has the money, that might be coming to a head sooner than later.

If you asked me this last year, it would have been daylight saving time issue. Until this year, most of the state was exempted from DST, making it New York time in the winter and Chicago time in the summer. That exemption was lifted and the time zone boundary between Eastern and Central got redrawn somewhat.

I live in GA, a big problem is the severe overcrowding of police officers. I am so sick of seeing 4 cops everytime I take a 5 minute drive to the store. Give me a break. There are so many of them, and they have nothing to do except for mess with people that don't really deserve to be messed with. What a waste of tax dollars...and guess what, violent crime is still huge...all those cops aren't doing anything about making me safer!!

Arkansas - too little rainfall. Farmers who don't irrigate won't do well. I have horses and the price of hay will be out of site this winter, our pasture is all burnt up. Forrest fires could become an issue.

Odd, because in fall/spring flooding is often an issue in the flat delta areas!

Missouri.; Some wonderful legislators want to buy farmland, put down some plastic and allow people from where ever to dump their garbage here. Sounds ridicules but they are doing this in MO and ARK.
