Hi. Why am I not surprised that someone would say sex? Anyway, my suggestion is a lot more tame. One thing that work for me: already been mentioned, meditation... sit quietly in a comfortable chair. Let you eye lids drop to about where they are closed. Keep your back straight. Become aware of your breathing. Don't exaggerate your breathing, just be very conscious of how it feels coming in, and, going out. Every time you breathe in, say gently in your mind, "I breathe in peace". Every time you breathe out, say gently in your mind, "I breath out change". Do this for about five minutes when you can be undisturbed. Do it at least once a day (early morning is good) and when ever you think it would help any number of times a day. Let it become a regular practice for you. You can alter the words peace and change if you want, but I would start with those until you get good at doing this. You can also extend your time up to 30 minutes (or more) but if you begin yo meditate like this you should think of joining a group for fun and support. You will be breathing in calm and breathing out new ideas to make your life better. I bet it will help.

Short term smile than try and think of some dumb thing you did or have happen to you that will give you reason for smiling. Long term life changes to lower stress. Yoga and breathing exercises. Learning were stress is coming from.

Depends on your personality.... Some ppl meditate, some enjoy reading, other find exercise/sports helpful, and of course good sex with a willing partner.

(Not trying to be lewd with that last part, just answering your q.)

If you personally are looking for relief, find something to do that you enjoy that eases the tension from your neck and shoulders. That's the best place to tell how stressed and tense you are.

Anything that makes you feel good. That will help you forget about whats causing the stress. Even if it's just for a few moments. I come on Yahoo Answers for awhile, answer questions and forget about my own stress causing probs for awhile.

besides the obvious (sex) i just put on my running shoes and go for a jog and breathe in the fresh air and take in all the sites around me - it's great for stress and also keeps you in shape, which makes you feel good, which reduces the stress - also put on great dancing music and sing & dance around my living room - shopping comes in third as a great stress reliever.

My thing is to relax by any means neccessary. If it means going to the spa, reading, talking a walk, or just talking to someone very positive.
Remember we all need to take time out for ourselves otherwise we get burned out and as a result we get stressed out....

My favorite - shopping, massage, manicure and a pedicure all in one day. Go to go!! OHHHH, sex is also a good reliever. Makes it easier to sleep afterwards and clears your mind of clutter.
