Oil Industry
Fast food/ Food Industry
Pharmaceutical Industry
Financial Services Industry
Medical Industry
Politico-Legal Industry
Religion (if you want to look at it as a multi-billion dollar business)
That is what we are good and profitable at.
Most other industries like textiles and Automobiles and manufacturing in general have been moved overseas where labor is cheaper.

We were manufacturing airplanes for a long time. We also manufacture cars, and by that I don't mean only "American" cars, many "foreign" cars are built in the USA.

I think medical industry manufacturing needs are to be given importance in the US as there is lot of scope regarding the same as it needs to be focussed here.The medical industry requires lot of support regarding the usage of medicines and services are to be rendered regarding the same

the first thing that came to mind is porn. americans love our porn.
actually alot of things we design, and send off to poorer countries to have the parts built and assembled. we are cool like that. honestly i cant really think of anything besides porn, and soda.
