Right .......But let's face it without a job there's no family.

When it comes to feeding your family a job is always first....when it comes to time with your family a job is always second or last.

So in your case im thinking theres financial problems sooo...in that case your job is very important and critical, of course no you can't live out of cardboard boxes. You both need to work together to be together ....and after you worked long and hard and survived your financial problems then you may sow all the benefits for you and your hubby to enjoy and then, just then will you be more stronger and more happier after that family can become 1st in line again.

I view my life like bike spokes.......
A wheel on a bike goes round and round with perfect balance. the bolt in the middle holds all the spokes together.. The centered bolt is God that holds everything.. Every spoke has to have equal weight and attention... Not too much weight on one spoke or else the wheel gets wobbly... Give attention to each spoke which one spoke represents family, one spoke represents kids, one spoke represents your job , one spoke represents your computer and activity time and so on and so on... You want to keep the wheel of your family going and going in perfect motion.. If you lose your job then the weight of the spoke is gone then of course the wheel will wobble.... Everyone needs a healthy safe place to live, food and a job... When you lose one then you lose the others slowly and you become unbalanced.. of course you need your job so you have insurance when the kids get sick and they have to go to the Doctor and everything cost and everyone wants to get paid.. So if someone in your family is under the impression that this is the 60's and they can give up their job, money, insurance and potential money for food then sooner or later the spokes will come apart and so will your family.. Trust in God and do your part and what you are suppose to be doing and then you will be fine. If someone bucks the system to prove they are right then eventually you will all fall.. Would it be that important to be Right and lose it all?

I know that many people would disagree with what I'm about to say, but in lots of ways, a good job is more important.

This means that you can support your family financially if they need it.

Obviously, if your bother is getting married, you should take a day or two off work to be with him. There are exceptions however, if the same thing happens, but you are supposed to be signing a 7 million pound bussiness deal, that can only be done on that day, I'm sure your brother would undersatnd.

Basically, it depends on the circumstances- something that can never be seen.

Your husband sounds like my husband. We have two children and he is the only one that works right now and it makes me feel bad cause I can't get out and get a job right now but he tells me that family is the best thing in life and if you don't have a family then you have nothing but a lonely life.So yes a job is important and you have to have money in this greedy world but having a loving husband makes everything not so bad. You have to have GOD too, HE's the one who put us here and HE's the one we are going to see when we die.Or instead of living in these towns why don't we move out like the older wiser people did and not have to worry with bills just worry if you crop comes in.

The priority list as taught by Jesus is as follows:

1. God
2. Family
3. Others
4. Yourself

If you are leaving out your family simply to get a paycheck, you have elevated yourself above the level you should be. After all, you can get any job any where just to get paid, but you can't just get any family any where to love you. Set your goal to be one that will ensure that your family's emotional and relational needs are met and you will have their support that lasts a lifetime. If you put your job above your family, they soon will no longer be your family. This is the cause of many divorces, many poor parent/child relationships, etc.

I am 22 and my job is at the time. Not really my job cause I am a manager for a big box retailer, but I want to be a police officer. So right now I would give up anything for the career I want to have.
