AW AT LAST ALL THESE RESPONSES MAKE ME FEEL AS IF NO ONE READ THE QUESTION. IT SEEMS PEOPLE ON THIS SITE ALWAYS TRY AND PUSH THEIR VIEWS ONTO PEOPLE. THEY ANSWER QUESTIONS NOT DIRECTED TOWARD THEM. AND FOR THE PERSON WHO SAYS THERE IS NO LOVE IN ME THAT STATEMENT IS ILLOGICAL U DO NOT KNOW ME. BUT YOU DO KNOW ACTIONS CORRECT. WELL BY YOUR ACTIONS U MUST UNDERSTAND THAT SOMEONE THAT CLAIMS SOMEONE DOES NOT KNOW LOVE THE PERSON THAT CLAIMS SUCH THINGS CANNOT KNOW LOVE EITHER. LOVE IS IN ALL OF US BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ALL OF US FIRST BY JESUS CHRIST. I LOVE YOU BY THE WAY.

I was struggling once, but I got over it.

You can't "Cure" being gay because there's nothing wrong with it!

What wrong are attitudes and fears of everyone else!

There's no such thing as an "ex-gay!" It's a myth.

These supposed "therapies" are all phoney and dangerous!
The APA and AMA have both posted their position on these so called "therapies" and warn that not one of these groups are accredited in their techniques or practitioners.
They are simply abusive religious cults working to brainwash the suseptible.
They cause much more harm than good.
They keep NO RECORDS of supposed "sucess" because it doesn't exist!

The problem is that for every one person who claims to have changed, there are THOUSANDS of gay people who tried to change and failed. And when they fail, as an overwhelming majority will, they will be psychologically worse off. Every qualified mental health organization in America calls the mad science you are suggesting harmful.

I would ask you, is it responsible for you to advocate something that has to proven not to work? If a product had be proven to have a less then 1% sucess rate, with the other 99% end up worse off? If you had a friend with a tumor, would you reccomend a medical proceedure that had a less then 1% sucess rate when the other 99% saw their mental and physical pain double?

I would look over what you have written here and as yourself, is that ethical to propose something that you know to be harmful to most people who engage in it? It is ethical to propose something to be harmful to people you know to be desperate? Is that moral? Can you sleep at night?

If you are tired of the profanity, why do you come on here and offer this type of thing? All you are doing is letting people know that you find that homosexuals are sick people, and that it is wrong. What you are doing is playing a mind game, you are saying one thing when you mean something completely different, and then ask people not to reply to you. What a joke. This is more of a gay bashing post than most of the ones I have seen on here and I think you should be ashamed of yourself, but of course, only you are right, so that will never happen.

As to your comment "I must offer help to ..." who made you their savior? Who commanded you to come on here and judge people for their choices? God? Your priest? Naw man, you made the choice yourself to come on here and condemn people, and for that you are more of a bigot than most.

********EDIT*********
Do you understand, at all, how stupid your additional information made you out to be? You don't like people pushing their beliefs on you, wow, what do you think you are doing? Are you incapable of understanding what a hypocrite is? Perhaps you should look it up, you just might find your name is somewhere in the definition...

I really think you are the one with the problem...maybe you need to CHANGE. I will never for the life of me understand why folks like you feel the unending need to change us. How many times do we have to say "we don't want your help...thanks but NO thanks?" Why can't you see we don't believe the same way you do? The ex-gay movement is a farce. Those who claim they are no longer homosexual are not only fooling themselves but are straight up lying. They have had "bad" life experiences and want to say it's because they were gay....and that's NOT true. I'm gay and happy. I have a wonderful, fulfilled life. You are missing the point of life.

not you again. you don't mean to be rude? instead re-wording and re-posting this same junk over and over.....why don't you wait for someone to actually ask you?
we aren't "struggling" with who we are. we were born the way we are, and not only can you NOT change who you innately are....we don't want to!! so-called "conversion" therapy is nothing by right-wing conservative brain-washing. it's nothing but lies.
note...I did NOT use profanity....but if you keep re-posting this same stuff as you've been doing, you'll probably hear more.
if you read community guidelines, you can't do repeated postings like this...this is considered spamming.

If you really loved us you would love us for who we are not for who you think we should be. it's quite apparent you don't though, and I'm sure if anyone was looking to lead a miserable life by not being true to themselves they'd be hanging out in the religious section so why don't you take all your happy little questions over there?

Go to hell, you friggen hypocrite. If someone here really wanted to waste their money by trying to "change", they wouldn't be in this section. They'd be in the Religion section or they would've found those sites already. All your posts are completely pointless, so just disappear back to that stone you peeled yourself off of.

Can I direct you to some web sites for people who are struggling with hatred and bigotry? Or hypocrasy, since to true 'christian' would be repeatedly trying to cram this junk down people's throats?

You are projecting discrimination, hatred and self-loathing. Do not delude yourself in any way that you are projecting "love." If you wanted to "offer help to those who want it," you would do that on an individual basis, and not via hate-o-gram to masses of people who see your "question" for the hate-mongering it truly is.

Sorry but you are full of crap. I don't care who you addressed this question to, when I see someone intending harm toward someone else I'm going to speak out, whether they like it or not. It's been proven that programs designed to "help" gay people become straight does little but harm them psychologically. Former my *** - gay is gay, being celibate doesn't make you straight, it just makes you suffer to please a group of people that deem you as a "deviant sinner." Stop deluding innocent people, you are doing nothing but causing harm to support your own prejudices.

2006-09-13 07:57:52 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 5 1

If it's for those people, why are you posting in an area designated for people who *don't* want your "help", and are happy as they are?

If you don't want profanity, don't go around telling people they're wrong as they are and need a way out of their relationships, friendships, identity, etc.
