A) Major religions at the time were the believes held by Greeks and Romans and they were the ones making the discoveries. Christianity didn't exist yet (you can't say Christianity has always existed because it didn't exist until after Jesus died) B) How do you figure it breaks a couple of commandments. Do Christians or Hebrews worship the stars and other plants? No. They use the names they were given to remember them. Should Athens change its name, or Rome? C)I think Jesus was more concerned about bigger sins then people calling the stars and planets by names that had been used for a while. As long as people don't worship those stars and other planets, he probably figured it really wasn't that much of a sin.
