Why do so many tv program makers ruin the enjoyment by adding background music so loud as to drown out the dialogue?

Becuase the programme is so boring they have decided to put some loud background music on to keep the viewers watching the programme.

Alter the sound setting on your TV. If you have it set for a wide sound IE. 'magic' on some TVs, it cuts out the middle part of the sound, and that is where the voices are. experiment a little and thank me later.

Have any of you ever contacted the original development of a tv show to inform them of this problem? And, if so, did they give any sensible answer or offer to check into it?

because the people making the show feel it would be boring without any music. they sometimes feel the music should override all else as well.

I don't know why they do it, but I do agree with you it is too loud.
