the best thing to do with the gas pedal in a camaro is stomp it to the floor

First of all read the manual that came with your car. The cars with computers you do not need to pump the gas. Get in and turn the key, let the computer take it from there. If you a vehicle without a computer you push the pedal once to the floor to set the choke to the closed position and set the idle up.

it actually does no good. on '86 and newer vehicles, they are equiped with a tbi ( throttle body injection) that all works off the electroni computer of the car. if it was carburated, i'd say pump away. with this one, it does no good. it really isn't bad for the car as far as i know.

Other than putting wear and tear on some pivot points, it isn't doing a thing. But it isn't needed, unless it somehow makes you feel better. On some cars doing that might flood the carburetor, but I doubt you will find one today.
