They have shots that you can have injected wherever you have excess sweating. It lasts a few months, then you go and get more. Not sure what it's called and how much it costs. But I guess people get it done all the time

I really don't know how but I do think it has to do with your hormones and also genes. I sweat a lot, and usually end up with sweat marks on my clothes even if I'm just getting into a hot car. My husband on the other hand, never sweats except when he's working out real hard. Supposedly it's b/c he's got Native Am. in him and their genes cause them not to sweat so much. As far as the hormones (usally associatid with armpit sweating), I heard that you can be prescribed medication to control those.....

you shouldn't stop it, you sweat for a genuine reason and if you try to stop it be prepared for serious bodily reprecussions
try to identify what causes you to sweat in the first place, might be something obvious like saunas or working out could be something you have no control over like stress or embarassment then try to deal with the cause not the effect

Botox injections are the most extreme option, but try Mitchum deoderant first, some people swear by the deoderant crystals too, availiable from health food shops.

Under the arms use Certain dry, you can find it at CVS...
You apply it at night and you will not sweat under there the next day! You have to use it daily though, and if you shave under there and then add this it will burn...Im sorry I didnt even look to see if you were a man or a woman asking, maybe you wont be shaving at all! Then theres no problem...

Like Crystald said, Certain Dry will work...my father used to use it way back in the day, he's in his 60s and it's still on the market, so do the math on that one. Baby powder works as well...if you're a guy, just get the unscented or a masculine scent, if available. Good luck with that!

There's a fairly potent roll on deodourant by the name of 'Anhydrol Forte'. Your doctor will be able to prescribe it for you. Stings like buggery initially but is well worth it in the long run!

Obesity is a major cause of extreme sweating.

It is possible to have an over active homeostasis system (I'm suffering with it) so if you sweat for ages even when you've coolled down and go cold even when you're in a warm room, see a doctor.
