I believe Michael would & will do what ever he needs to do for him and his son to get home. If that means turning his back on the Losties, so be it. The question really is if they can leave? If Desmond has tried, who know how to sail, what makes Michael any diffrent? We shall all find out when Season 3 starts 10/4.

Neither of them has a contract with the show anymore, so their escape is looking pretty good. I expect to see them in someone's flashbacks of course, but I really would be surprised if we see them on the island again. Espcially Walt. The producers and writers knew they would have to write him off right away because as a child he ages too fast in real life for the show which goes much slower than real time.

I don't even think they'll try to leave. I think...and hope...they go back to the camp and come up with a plan to save Jack Kate and Sawyer and if they try to leave i don't really care what happens to them.. I don't really liek Michael, walts cool but i could live without him.

I think they're going to get away and then the show will create like a parallel plot line for them. Perhaps they'll try to get outsiders to come save the rest of the group and fail or something to prolong the life of the show.

They're probably going to leave on the boat, then decide to come back for the other people (Jack, Kate and them).
