HI
THE DONUT GASKET IS A SIMPLE RING SHAPED PACKING THAT IS HELD IN PLACE WITH AN EXHAUST FLANGE THAT IS BOLTED TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD
U MUST REVOVE THE NUTS AND WASHERS AND SLIDE THE FLANGE DOWN THE PIPE TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE GASKET
SIMPLY REMOVE THE GASKET AND CLEAEN THE SURFACES OF ANY DEBRIS
REPLACE THE NEW DONUT AND TIGHTEN EVENLY THE NUTS
AWAY YOU GO
CAUTION SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH OLD AND PROBABLY RUSTY BOLTS OR STUDS
I RECOMMEND USING SOME PENETRATING OIL SUCH AS WD40 OR LIQUID WRENCH PRIOR TO TURNING THE NUTS
PUT A SOCKET ON THE NUTS AND TAP GENTLY TO SET UP A VIBRATION HELPING TO FREE THE NUTS
IF YOU TWIST OFF A STUD YOU WILL BE IN FOR ALOT MORE WORK AND EXPENSE SO TAKE YOUR TIME AND DONT SNAP ONE OFF
HOPE THIS HELPS

There should be 2 of them between the exhaust pipe and manifolds. One on each side. There are 2 or 3 bolts holding the flanges with a doughnut gasket in between. You must be able to get underneath the car to change them, and if the bolts have not been removed previously it can be very hard. some of them are in tight places and hard to get to. They can be corroded and hard to get off. If you are willing to tackle it and have some mechanical ability, and the tools, be advised you will lose some hide off your knuckles in the process. If you can't lift the car safely, take it somewhere it can be done.

You need to loosen the 3 nuts holding the exhaust pipe to the manifold. Sometimes the bolt comes out as the nut is rusted to the bolt. I use an impact wrench myself. When I put it back together I coat the bolts with anti-seize when I put them back in.

Go to your nearest auto parts store; either ask someone behind the counter or purchase a Chilton Auto Repair book.

remove the exhaust pipe from the manifold, remove the doughnut, replace with the new one, replace exhaust pipe to manifold. (Not a fun Job to say the least)
