It seems cruel, but may have been best to do. I had a girlfriend who's cat behaved the same way. For no reason one day, the cat just went crazy, running all over and attacking everyone in the house. She caught the cat and put him outside for the rest of the day. After everything seemed fine for a few weeks. Then out of no where the cat did it again and attacked her 3 year old daughter, who was badly injured. After that her husband also destroyed the cat. If it would have been put down before, her little girl would not have scars on her face now, which she will have for the rest of her life, she nearly lost her vision in all of this. A cat that behaves this wild and aggresively needs to be put down, there is something wrong with it.

I think that he went a lil too far !!! More than a "lil" actually. "Lil" is an understatement. Was he tryna prove something to her ??? Or was she seriously bleeding that much ??? Kinda sounds like, "I love you so much I'd kill my cat for you." :s He coulda just punished da cat !!! He coulda locked the cat up in the bedroom or something. Or they coulda left the house to get away fr the cat !!! Geeeez !!! That's not right @ all... If the cat was causing her to bleed to death tho, that would be a diff't story, but you're talking bout a HOUSE cat....

I would have brought the cat to the humane society...shooting it was a bit extreme. I would now rethink my relationship with this guy...You wouldn't want to accidently trip or hurt his girlfrieds feelings or your 'friend' may turn the gun on you. And he probably wouldn't even bury you.
Also, after distancing yourself from him, send an anonymous note to him recommending that he see a mental health practitioner.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear about that, but I'm sure his actions were justified. I never liked cats, but don't wish them harm either. You said it yourself, the cat attacked her & caused her to bleed. That does not sound correct.

Thats wrong cause its just a cat and unlike dogs they don't just chase you and attack you so she had to have done something that made the cat mad.

a little too much, don't u think? was she bleeding a lot, did she do something to aggravate the cat? was the cat rabid? i say it was wrong to kill the cat, but there's a lot i don't know about the circumstances.

He wouldn't be my friend any longer that's for sure. He's a frigging coward if you ask me, shooting an animal like that.
He sure has anger issues and I would be very careful of that idiot.
One day you piss him off and he shoots you. He shouldn't carry a gun.
