He's not the most disliked. Lincoln had that honor while he was President. He's not the worst. Yet. Time will tell. Truman was considered a great failure while in office, and is now considered a great, or near great President. If Iraq is a strong democracy in a few years, and has great positive influence in the middle East, Bush may be regraded a a great, or near great President then. Most Presidents legacies arent apparent while they are in office. Reagan, Carter, Nixon, Eisenhower, FDR....all of these Presidents legacies changed long after their presidency ended.

I don't care for the fella, but history is not a current events contest. Everything has to be put into perspective. You can't judge anyone until you see them as part of the big picture. Its really too rearly even to put Reagan in perspective.
I'd put Douglas Pierce (1853-1857) as our worst president. He had a pretty hard job, mending the continually widening rift between the north and south, and he was clearly not up to the job.
He was the type who would agree with the last person he spoke to. Both sides called him "doughface" because he would keep flip flopping.
His greatest folly was the Kansas Nebraska Act which led to Bleeding Kansas, which let us break the seal and allow Americans to stop killing one another over Slavery.
He had no achievements and the only signifcant thing he did was not to serve two terms.
And this was when he had no real opposition. The Whigs fell to pieces. It was only his party. The GOP didn't get started until midway through his reign.
May he rest in peace.

It is not just the war, that will make him go down in history. It will be his complete disregard for domestic policies. He has done nothing to help the American people (ie: Katrina, 9/11, oil and energy gas prices, outsourcing.) You never know how a president will get written up in history, I guess it all depends on who is writing the book. But I know this, I have a deep dislike of him, and hope he goes down as the worst.

Probably the worst public speaker. My first-hand knowledge of past U.S. Presidents only goes back as far as Richard Nixon. I was watching television the day he was impeached. Hard to say what will be written about Bush in history books. Do you believe that history books are unbiased?
W lacks the charisma that both Reagan and Clinton possessed. Keep in mind that no matter who occupies the White House they are going to have at least one group that vehemently opposes them.
Think about this for a minute. Abraham Lincoln is often praised, in history books, as being one of the best U.S. Presidents because he abolished slavery. Yet under his Presidency the U.S. was involved in the bloodiest conflict in its history, to date, the Civil War.

Probably disliked. LBJ was disliked for sending Americans to war in Vietnam where the death toll was much higher than it is in Iraq.
The "dishonors" of Worst President Ever go to Ulysses S. Grant.

I think it will depend on the outcome of the impeachment proceedings and the outcome of the trial for his war crimes.
Marks against him include but are not limited to:
=violation of over 800 US laws (per the Supreme Court)
=national deficit up by over 300 Trillion Dollars
=violation of the Geneva Convention
= the price of gas has tripled under his reign.
=there were NO weapons of mass destruction
= foreknowledge and doing nothing about the 9/11 attack to garner support for his wars (this will come out eventually.. the evidence is there.)
=claiming to be involved in the middle east to help spread democracy.. yet the Hezbollah that he calls a terrorist organization that needs to be destroyed is a legitimately democratically ELECTED part of the Palestine government.
The list goes on.. but I think he has a good shot at worst to date.

Probably the most disliked and the least accomplished of every man who became President because he is so transparent. I mean when he lies he even looks like he is lying.

I do not like him or his policies but that doesn't mean he will be the worst.
Wouldn't the worst be the one who allows the break up of the country.
