Actually both types of cells have vacuoles, the size is much bigger in plant cells however. Plant cells do contain a cell wall for the function of extra strenth to withstand the physical elements of outdoor life (sun and wind).. Plant cells also contain a organelle called a chloroplast that animal cells do not have. The chloroplast give the plants their lovely shade of green and is where photosynthesis takes places. Other than that, they contain all of the same organelles though some might differ in size or location.

Ugh, you are getting terrible answers. I would ignore them all as they are mostly all incorrect (bioteacher2003's are fine)

Structurally there are significant differences, most noticeably, ALL plant cells contain cell walls, while not all animal cells do, but some can (fungi, for instance). Another significant difference is the central vacuole- in plants this is used for gas storage, and support, while in animal cells vacuoles can exist, they are **much** smaller.

Other differences are that most plant cells do not have centrioles, whereas they are present in virtually all animal cells. Plants will typically be polyploid with up to 16 copies of each chromosome (check out watermelon and strawberries for some crazy genetics).

And, lastly, the most obvious difference- virtually all plant cells contain chloroplasts while they are NEVER present in animal cells.

the two biggest differences are: plant cells have a cell wall, animal cells don't. And plant cells have a huge vacuole in the center, animal cells don't.

Cheers.
