classic ending leaving you wanting more but not getting it

I think the gold should not have been on the bus but hidden somewhere else. After the bus scene the others should realise the gold is missing. M.Canies character should be seen retrieving the booty from the secret location and then be sitting around a pool with lots of girls. Drinking champange and hiding somewhere in Brazil.
I hated the end of that film!

Michael Caine should have managed to salvage one single ingot of gold. The surviving gang splits it up, allowing for a modest change of lifestyles for each.
And each of them retire, driving older, weather-worn minis.
Note to "Clueless": One does not "plan" to run a bus off an alpine road. Keeping a couple of Mini's in reserve would lead the authorities to the gang. The bus was integral to the escape plan. There had to be no Mini's left.

I think they should have somehow managed to get the gold, I mean, they worked so hard for it, I think they kinda deserved it. They should have kept a couple of minis and a backup team to pull the bus back on to the road.

I think it should have ended with Mr Bridger sat on a gold toilet in the prison, reading Tatler, while all the prisoners are cheering outside.

it was a great ending.. hinting at a sequel, but it never happened, maybe they could have got the gold home minis safe (what a waste, dear little cars) and had the life of Riley.....

I think the ending was perfect as it was. I couldn't improve on it at all in my amature re-make with Lego men.

I think Batman should have walked onto the set and executed Big Bird in front of Burt Reynolds. How funny would that be.
