Yes. The show is a satire of extremist political pundits (liberal and conservative) who espouse very biased and often slanted views. Similarly, the Daily Show is a mockery of all corporate media.

They probably just chose to make fun of conservatives as it would probably have better appeal to their audience which is most likely slightly left leaning on average.

as a fashion to easily be humorous in case you poke exciting at liberals and democrats? Colbert makes exciting of each and every side, in spite of the actual undeniable reality that he looks to have extra exciting with GOP politicians and pretend information pundits. i guess this is the sheer volume of fabric he has to artwork with that makes a decision his 'humor' for the day.

He , and Jon Stewart, make fun of EVERYBODY...it's political satire. Republicans are in charge, that's the bulk of the humor now...anyone who thinks that he won't have a job if dems win, is an idiot...plenty of bashing to go around. Perhaps the left has more of a sense of humor...(Rush and the other pundits take themselves seriously...)

his job is to get laughs, and the current administration is the number 1 target in all other senses, so they are obviously the number 1 candidate to be the butt of jokes. I'm a conservative, and i find him hilarious!
