Who actually knows the presidents of the world personally, common people don't?

I know that Bush has his antorage and then he MAY shake common people's hand or something but that's all the relationship he has with them. So are presidents only living in a world of politicians and don't have contact with normal people?

If you know the family they might be able to pass on a message for you.
He also might listen if you donate to the campaign.
He also might listen to you if you become a local politician.
