I know the couples in my family all have interesting stories. My mother’s parents met at a street dance back in the 50’s and my father’s parents over a coin toss ( heads my grandfather took my to-be grandmother out on a date; tails he never asked her again) and my parents at a military dance.

I was at my best friend's little sister's party showing support, when i saw the most handsome man my eyes ever laid eyes on. he got out his car and walked inside (turns out he was part of the dj's camp) totally in awe i started asking around who he was and what his name was cause i was too shy to talk to him myself. (he kinda looked out of my league). the night went on and I noticed that he never even noticed me as i passed him by or gave him a look. I started to get sad because i knew I probably wouldn't get his number. I went outside to get some air and talk to some friends and suddenly he came toward our group and was talking. I tried to carry a conversation with him but it seemed that he ignored me because he just walked away. the man who was next to him thought i was trying to talk with him and tried to pick me up. i was too annoyed to listen to what he was saying because my new crush was walkin away. the night then dragged on and i decided that i was not enjoying myself and decided to call a few friends to go to a movie that night. anyway as i turned away from the party with my cell phone in hand someone tapped me on the shoulder. i thought it was the gentleman from earlier because he was trying to talk to me ever since and so i delayed in turning around to face him because i didnt really want to talk to him. but after like 20 seconds i sighed and thought to myself just give him any number that you can think of. when i did it was him the handsome man!!! he was beginning to turn around because he could tell that i didnt want to be bothered, but i knew better i ran toward him and when he saw that i was interested smiled and we had a very interesting conversation. anyway to make a long story short we have been together for 2+ years and live together. I asked him about why he was ignored me that night and it turns out that he was really shy and didnt have enough courage to talk to me until when he came and found me.

I was new to town and started bartending at a local grille. He came in and was in the most absolute unnapproachable mood ever. I walked over and took his order, smiling as usual, and he payed NO attention to me whatsoever. Something about that just drove me nuts (usually I'd just leave the guy alone if he didn't want to talk to me) He was grumpy, not mean, just grumpy. Well, he came back in and over the next two weeks we ended up talking a little bit more.Turns out that day he had been working all night/day and was dead tired. BUT his friend told me that night after he left, he called the friend and told him about the *hot* new bartender. So.... of all the bars, in all the towns, in all the world, HE had to walk into mine ;-) good question

I was getting a manicure and noticed a woman kept staring at me. She came up to me right before I was going to leave and said I'd be perfect for her brother. I didn't know her at all - first time we'd met. She wanted me to take his phone number but I went for his email instead figuring I had nothing to lose. She told me he was a pastry chef and if things worked out, he would make our wedding cake. I thought this was simply too good to be true.

I wrote to him, 2 days later he wrote back and we emailed about a week, then met up. A month later we went looking for wedding rings. 3 months after that he proposed. I was 25 and he was 33 at the time. We saved up for the wedding of our dreams and we've now been married 1 year, together for a total of 3 years, and YES he did make our wedding cake - it was simply gorgeous and 5-tiers!!

I'll always be grateful to his sister because she saw something in me.

Mine wasnt too interesting. I met my fiance at a parttime job at a supermarket. He and I both worked there but i didnt talk to him much at work. Then he saw me in the halls at a local college we both attended and said hi and so then we started talking and i asked him for his phone number and the rest is history.

My friend however has a more interesting story. My friend just got married. She and I were driving around a college campus (we didnt attend the school) and we purposely would pretend we were lost and ask hot guys walking around campus for fake directions. I happen to see a cute guy on the sidewalk walking alone and I told my friend to ask him for directions. She asked him for the fake directions and then he invited us to a party and that is how they met.

My spouse and I met in College. He actually ran from me because he thought I was kidding when I told him I wanted to go out sometime. Later I found him in the computer lab and I ran my nails down his back and he turned around and could not speak. We went out and have been together ever since May of 2000.

In a dream. Literally. We met physically first in eighth grade. Then later on, we read each other's journals, and on the same night, we both had recorded a dream with a detailed description of the other person. Freaky, huh?

my husband and I worked together for about two years and i had never thought of him in the "boyfriend" way because he'd always had a girlfriend. well I quit that job just before a camping trip that I bunch of us had planned and he had just broken up with his girlfriend and we ended up driving the 4 hours down to moab together, talking the whole way. and we had a blast throught the whole camping trip and then we rode back together and just talked and talked. then when we got back to the city and he called and talked to me for an hour every night for a week but never told me he really liked me and so we hung out a few times but never really got serious and then he got back together with his ex and didn't tell me. So then I found out and told him how much I liked him and that I was really sad now and he ended up breaking up with her the next day. But then I was scared to have a serious realtionship with him becasue I didn't want to be the "rebound" girl. So I broke up with him in a text message, horrible I know, and didn't see him for a week. But every night that I was away from him I had this incredible dreams of him kissing me and just feeling like he was "the one" so I called him and we took things slowly for a few months and I didn't even let him kiss me until we had dated for two months!

I was dating his best friend, five years later b/f cheated on me, he helped me through it and showed me how I should be treated. We dated for 3 months before we knew we had something good and eloped in Vegas 2 and a half years ago.

We're still going strong today!
