your hot tap should always be on the left ,so if a blind person comes in your house they don't scald themselves i am a plumber and recently worked in an infants school and the taps were all the wrong way round this is wrong especially when kids are about , kids should be learned from an Early age that the hot is always on the left, its common practise, because if people or kids get scalded they will put in a claim against the school or any organisation to get a bit of compensation

By code the hot must be on the left side and cold on the right side, no exceptions.

This is the standard building code that all of the states, cities and municipalities use in the U.S.

New regulations about 7 years ago stated that all HOTS should be on the LEFT and that means ALL appliances that have a hot & cold. Interesting story I heard about a partially sighted person using a shower in an hotel. They got scalded and sued the hotel for not abiding by the rules !!!!!

It is almost always on the left- unless installed by someone who did not know the standard (in the US).

And most blind people a.) already know this, and b.) can figure it out easily if it was changed for whatever reason.
