Limewire if downloaded from a reputable source is clean but the downloads themselves using limewire are often (if not usually) corrupted with spyware , virus, and malware! You need very good active scanning installed to even consider using the product. Better yet, just dedicate a computer to limewire and expect to rebuild it monthly.

Limewire is a very good program without any spyware and adware and maleware on it, but the viruses is not only in limewire, the viruses in all peer to peer (p2p) programs like kazaa, imesh, bearshare, shareaza etc...., so if you need to download any thing from any of these programs you may have antivirus program like norton antivirus or mccafee or AVG or Kaspersky etc... (norton is the best), so if you need to use any of these programs just be patient with viruses.
but i need to give you advice....
limewire is a very good program, and only p2p program that winner best file sharing program, so if you need to get rid of viruses from it, just don't download any files less than 1 MB because these files at most times contains viruses.
And i have limewire from 1 year ago, it's AWESOME! program.

Good luck.

I use LimewirePro and not had any problems.

Download Limewire then go to programmes and look for LimeWirePro as its a much faster version and if a file is corrupt you will get notified and can cancel the download.

Dont forget to scan whatever you have downloaded with your antivirus

I believe them. But some of the links you click on can cause a website to pop up, or you can download viruses or incorrect files, which is the file sharing people's fault, not LimeWire's fault.

Depends what you download from people, when you download from limewire you are downloading from people, if those people have dodgey files (programs / songs / photos etc) that contain viruses than its not clean I guess.

Whatever p2p you are using (bearshare, limewire etc) always scan the downloaded file for viruses!

You are obviously one confused puppy. (How old are you?)

Limewire is a program.

Limewire has no viruses or trojans.

Limewire has no spyware.

Limewire is *NOT* a network.

Gnutella is the network the Limewire uses.

The network is *NOT* called Limewire.

The network is full of viruses and trojans.

Stop, stop! Don't hop on pop!

Limewire itself doesn't contain infections. The material you download using Limewire is what contains possible infectious material.

the program is self doesn't.... however the things you download may have all you listed. They can't police every single file that is shared. It's a P2P program, so they have no control what users post. Just be careful when you download ANYTHING! Scan it with an antivirus before you run, execute or play to be safe.

any place you download from will contain some kind of virus program... depending on the download and the person you are loading from... just get a virus protection program that had a good firewall and install into your comp.. this program will block any and all downloads that have any possible viruses and will question you if you still want to load it?? your option...load it or pick another song!!!
