I have looked at animal shelters but the adoption fee is too high around here.

We are only wanting 1-2 puppies or 1-2 cats

Never been denied for adoption! All I would have done to the pets is have them micro-chipped. I love animals and if I could afford to pay $75-100 per pet, I would.

If you don't have a good answer then don't bother posting! How is it suspicious that I don't want to pay an expensive adoption fee? All I'm wanting is a pet for my wife so she won't have to be alone if I get deployed to Iraq!

Some of you all really make me wonder why I even want to defend your freedom!

The best place to look for FREE animals is actually craigslist

http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/wa

Click on the area closest to you. Then look under the box Community in Pets or under the box For Sale in Free.

I would look in your local classified ads for what you are looking for they should have something, there are always ads for free pets . Usually Sunday papers have the most listings of pets.
Sorry you are having a bad time with some of these members. Shelters can be expensive. They have to make a profit which they need to provide food etc. to run the shelter.
And by the way, God Bless You if you have to be deployed!

Try the humane society. If you really want to give an animal a loving home, which doesn't seem like the case, you wouldn't mind paying a small adoption fee.

YEah....sounds too shady!! IF adoption fees are too high and they have all the vet stuff done, then how are you planning to pay for all that for 2 dogs or cats.
Maybe they denied you for adoption. I would. It sounds WAY TOO SHADY!!

Are you totally stupid!!!!!!!!!! We are saying that if you CANNOT pay the adoption fee, you cannot afford to spay, get the vaccines done, get flea treatment...the works!!!!

And by your other posts, I really do not believe ANYTHING you say...so do not think I am owing you some candy coated answer so you can defend MY freedom!!! Mr BISEXUAL in the military, wants free books and pets!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you are a TOTAL loser saying you are in the military to get things for free!!!!

I would look at adds in grocery stores. I did see a man outside of Sportsmans Wharehouse in Tacoma with puppies.. That was last saturday though. I would try to go back there and look on their advertisement boards...
