That depends entirely on your situation. If you live in a city that has horrible traffic and parking issues but a great public transportation system, then why would you want a car? If, however, you live out in the middle of nowhere and need to get to school and/or work, a car would be a lifesaver. And be warned, once you get used to using a cell phone, you won't know how you ever lived without one. Both are useful but it is rather difficult to compare the two, since they are obviously used for such different purposes.

are you crazy? you can't pick between a cellphone and a car because the price ranges are so far apart. I'm pretty sure buying a cellphone wont stop you from buying a car and vice verse

There are certain places where having a car can be a definite liability, e.g. midtown Manhattan. So you would better off getting a cell phone if you're there.
Most other places it's very hard to live without a car. But if you have to ask, I'm guessing you don't need a car. so get a cell phone. It costs less than 1/10th as much as the cheapest car would be. And you can't do nearly as much damage with a phone as you can with a car.

a car is more useful, since it can transport you from place to place. But a cellphone is useful if you dont have a car, cuz you can call a cab or a friend or use it if you are in an emergency...but my vote is still for the car.

Cellphone and Car have completely different uses...not comparable. Car has more uses and more benefits. Much more important then Cellphone.

a cellphone cause its faster than a car. it will take you from New York to LA in 5 seconds. whereas a car would take you a week..
