I hate him, personally. I think he is absurd. Does anybody remember after September 11 he came out on his show and said "We have been the cowards lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly." My God what was he thinking? Do you agree with him? I really do want your opinion of him. Damn Rob Thomas.

While I disagree with many things he says, I will defend his right to say it. The current administration put a gag order on freedom of speech for so long (remember when Politically Correct was canned?) I became afraid for anyone who had the nerve to exercise it.

We hardly have a news media anymore; they've mostly become unabashed mouthpieces for the current administration. I turn on to hear news and all I hear are soundbite promos from the white house or someone trying to get elected. If you say something critical, then you had better put on a minstrel suit and frame it like a joke or it won't be heard at all. That's what I find disgusting.

I watch the BBC World. At least one can hear something besides left wing vs. right wing, democrats and republicans jockeying for position while important events happen (like the US is loosing control of the western hemisphere and civil war could happen in Mexico since the last bogus election with Vladimir Putin supplying war planes for it.) You won't hear that on Fox news!

I'm just saying, for pete's sake let's hear something else besides what is angled and programmed for a desired election outcome.

If you quote only that part of what Bill Mahar said, it sounds pretty nasty. He went on to say: what the terrorists did was despicable, heinous, deserving of being hanged by the testicles and set on fire -- but the one thing it was not was cowardly. He said that "cowardly" was the wrong word -- they were much WORSE than cowardly. It's important to get the whole story.

I like Bill Maher's comedy but mostly do not agree with his politics. That statement was so stupid and insulting about them not being cowards...that it stands alone as the most stupid statement ever made by a public figure. When those kinds of statements are made it shows how insulated from reality they are. Kind of like the Barbara Bush thing about the people in the dome in New Orleans being not so bad off since they are so poor. Different but similar in lack of sensitivity.

George Bush has outdone him but mostly grammar, etc. and lies so absurd as to be silly.

He says things that many people are thinking and nobody else dares to say. I like him and I watch him on HBO now.

ABC didn't cancel his show after he said that. They meant to keep it on the air. A few big sponsors pulled out, so the show couldn't afford to run after the 2001-2002 season.

Isn't it ironic that "Politically Incorrect" was canceled because it was politically incorrect?

I have mixed feelings about him. Basically, I don't watch him after the the 911 incident.

I can take him or leave him. He's not particularly funny, but then neither are most of the "political comedians". Did that help at all?
