I could be wrong but I think some-"one" is more specific than some-"body." When you use a word that ends with -one, you should follow the sentence with he/she or his/her. For example:

"Everyone should be able to have j*his* (or *her*) own book prior to doing the report."

When you use a word that ends with -body, you should use they/them:

"Anybody should know that *they* can get it."

WHAT are the differences between these two words...is correct not which. The words in question are interchangeable.
