i think it's a mixture of alote of things, like, what kind of cleaners they use, laundry detergent, what kind of candles they burn, perfume or cologne, febreeze, or even what they cook for dinner.

This is an interesting question, and I've wondered this myself. I know this will probably sound strange, but I find someone's home smell intriguing and, most times, enjoyable.

I think it's a combination of a lot of different things. Do they fry foods like onion and garlic a lot? If so, those smells linger and get into upholstry and stay. Do they smoke? Do they use very heavily scented laundry detergents and fabric softeners? Do they bathe daily (or not so often)? Do they use carpet freshener and heavily scented furniture polish when they clean? Do they have a cat or two and they don't clean the litterbox very often? Do they have a dog who needs groomed and smells sort of "doggy"? Do they live in an older house that's had a flooded basement a few times and the house has a generally musty smell? How often do they open their windows to air the place out and let in fresh air? Do they have young kids who have poopy diapers several times a day?

It's all about smells and the different things around their house.

the surroundings may have an effect also. Do they stay in a polluted city? Out contained in the country contained in the sparkling air? Out contained in the country next door to a dairy farm the position they spray cow manure on the fields each and every couple of weeks... (I stay contained in the third party....) After 6 a million/2 years, we are really a lot conscious of it. (-:
