I think it is true that the Nile River flows uphill making it unique. Why?

It's not uphill, but it does flow directly north, the only major river that does that. There are minor rivers that do that, many in Siberia.

There are many rivers that travel North. The land to the south is higher than the land to the north. Water runs downhill.
See the Genesee river in New York along w/ the St. Lawrence River.
(Why would you think otherwise ?)

I can think of one other river that flows north as opposed to south: The New River in the eastern US. Water will always follow the path of least resistancedue to gravity. It is not direction dependent. It always wants to get to a base level such as a lake or ocean.

As the previous answers mention, it's not really a function of North or South; instead, it's all dependent upon elevation. I'm sure that if you were to consult a cartographer (mapmaker), he or she could point out many more rivers which flow contrary to your North to South premise.

It's not, so does the St. John's River in Florida...and the Monogahela in W.Virginia, the Willamette in Ohio and there are more. Good luck with that!
