Do you know there are other beautiful places in France?
Yes, Paris is the most beautiful french city, but some other places are very beautiful : Aix-en-Provence, les Châteaux de la Loire (Castles of Loire), Strasbourg, Lyon, la Camargue, Bordeaux, Nantes, le Mont Saint-Michel, etc.
Come and visit all France! (and these places are cheaper than Paris!).
Bon voyage ^^

I don't just visit Paris, I love all of France (well most of it anyway); I've been to lots of the places you've listed (Aix-en-Provence, Strasbourg, la Camargue, le Mont-St-Michel) as well as others... But I can't really talk, as I've been to Paris, and will be living there soon to study French.

YES!!!!!!!!! I was looking for you!! You know, Ive been to Paris 2 or 3 times. Ive also been to Nice for a weekend, but it's been about 8 years since I returned to Europe and I've had this problem for all these years -Ive never felt like I know the real France. Well, finally I'll return for a visit this winter and I have the chance to go anywhere in France. Now I ask people where to go in France, but everyone just says oh - go to Paris for the week, or maybe Nice. People! Ive been to Paris, I don't need to go to Paris - Paris does not equal France, (and Ive been to Nice)Please, help me out here!! There must be more to France than just this! rightt?
Thank you Jason Perceval! Please help me.
Although, I must say, I wonder at this point... is it because it's hard to see France without a car?? Maybe this is why? I used to live in Italy...there are a number of famous cities to visit (easily by train) in Italy...though the exception is the very beautiful Tuscany- you must have a car for much of it. Is the "real France" like this I wonder? Can I reach all of these places you suggested (easily) by train Jason? I know nothing about France but I really want to!!! (though renting a car might be difficult, I live in Japan and havent driven for years) Please help me Jason Perceval - I'll post a question about this - I hope you answer.

My father is French and I have been to France more times than I can remember. I have stayed in the small towns and the large cities. All of France is beautiful. For those who are not fluent with the language, they tend to stay in Paris because most locals speak English. Most of the tours in USA go to Paris. When you go to the small towns, there is sometimes a communication barrier. I have explored all of France, I don't speak fluently but I try my best and have not had a problem.

For Americans the reasons are primarily seen as practical.

Direct flights from many cities in the United States to Paris are plentiful and often offered at very low prices.

Americans tend to have less vacation time than Europeans (two weeks per year is the normal American vacation time). Therefore, they do not have the time to explore lesser known cities in France.

Few Americans speak French and they fear that if they venture outside Paris they will not be able to communicate or become lost.

Many Americans fear it is only in Paris that the numbers of American tourists will protect them from what they believe are wide spread anti-American feelings among the French.

It's logical! I'm french and I really want to go to New York, although I know there are some others nice american city. But I agree with the Mont-Saint Michel, it's beautiful and deep France. You can also go in Toulouse, Annecy (!), Lille, Saint-Malo, l'Ile de Ré, La Corse (beautiful), etc...
Have a great travel :-)

Rome is a city, expensive. France is a rustic. In the two us of a, you could legally purchase alcohol at 18, yet deliver image identity. Your passport. it rather is not important the place you're from, yet once you will indulge, please do no longer overdo it. besides to creating an A S S of your self, you may as properly be putting your self in threat.
