Dont think as an adult many flims will give you nightmares but if you like to get a bit of nerves running during the movie try my three favourite
Hostel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and (the best for me) Evil Dead (if you can still find it) a classic. Hope you enjoy them

Blair Witch Project - I watched this one at midnight and in the dark and it spooked me out pretty good
The Ring - This one freaked me out a bit too, especially when she was watching the video in the editing room and pulled out the fly.
28 Days Later - A great movie that shows you people don't always pull together in times of bad. The scenes in London with no one around set the atmosphere!
Alien - An excellent haunted house movie set in space
Event Horizon - This one got under my skin and I always remember it as being very creepy
The Crow - I'm not sure if this one would be considered scary or more dark, depressing and morose.

The original Omen. The one with Gregory Peck - Scares me to this day. Also, a Japanese film called "The Audition" You will be shocked, maybe not scared, but it's not anything I have ever seen before. It'll play on your psyche and you might just have a nightmare.

Well do you have any phobias? Because what frightens you probably doesn't scare others and vice-versa. It all depends on you to be frank. If you don't like spiders, try Arachnophobia and if you don't like chainsaws then the Texas Chainsaw Massacre would be right up your street. Similarly if you don't like spirits/ghosts then try something like the Exorcist or The Omen or whatever. Otherwise, sorry, impossible question to answer but hope you get the point and happy being frightened soon I hope. :)

ok it may seem like a cheezy canadian flick of the 80's but I loved the movie..'The changling'.
I saw it for the first time alone and of course in the dark. needless to say, it was the last time i ever did.
I kinda starts of slow..it's about a man who is musician who had just lost his family. he rents an old house to grieve and write music and starts hearing and seeing strange happenings.
This movie had no blood, gore, or weapons, just you classic ghost story with strange sounds and sainces (sp?).
The lead caracter is George C. Scott, filmed in canada and parts of the US.
It's worth watching on a rainy, night.

The Exorcist was a comedy in my eyes!!
I just love THAT scene!
I dont find movies scary, but Hitchcocks The Birds has a nice wee edge to it, as it could happen, anytime i've seen it, im warey of walking past a flock of seagulls or a "murder" of crows. Get it?? a MURDER of crows??
