Why do single people have affairs with married men/women? From the answers posted to similar questions it seems as if the majority of people think affairs are wrong - I agree. I believe both the married person and the single person are equally responsible for the hurt they cause to the other spouse and children. Having said that - why do it? Is it a game? If he/she leaves his spouse for you does that make the other man/woman feel good in some way? How could you trust them? How do you live with the damage the two of you have caused? How does this impact your relationship? Is it worth it?

The married person does it because they are vain, and they like knowing they can have sex with someone else and that someone else finds them attractive. They married person also does it to get attention.

The single person usually does it because it is safe. The person is already married and probably not going to want to get married. For the single person, it's usually because they can't deal with a real relationship that has risks and the possibility of leading to marriage.

Then there are those single women who so want a family and to be married that they'll try to steal a man who already has that thinking he'll give it to them. When in reality they usually realize that if this man will cheat on his wife with them, that the man will cheat on them too.

I would say its because they know there r no strings and there is NO committment because they r already married so its safe to have an affair with them and not get hurt or expected to commit! Alot of people stop using romance in their marriages and start seeing each other as mom and dad! Instead of woman and man! So they lose the excitement and look elsewhere! I say if they used half the energy they use to have an affiar on their marriage- it would be awesome! NO ITS NOT WORTH IT! i would never ever do anything to risk my life with my man!

inability to commit and do a relationship the right way - that goes for both the married cheater and the single person who cheats with a married person - also i think single women that cheat with married men suffer from low self-esteem.

Wow! I've posted two similar questions in the past month.
What happened to me is my husband was cheating on me (twice that he's willing to admit). He said to me that he did it because I don't anniciate affection with him. (He's mean to me and the kids and has a bad temper) I wanted to hear the truth from the woman he slept with so I found her email address is his email account. She proceeded to tell me that He wouldn't have done it if I had kept him happy. She also had the nerve to throw in some religion. Saying that...
"you can't be withholding sex from him because you're mad. As a woman, it is your responsiblity to keep your husband satisfied to prevent him from sin. Every religion teaches this, Judaism, christianity and islam. These words do not come from man because he is sex crazed, it comes from God, he knows best what he has created. He knows the nature of man, and that is why God advised women to keep their husbands satisfied."
That is her direct quote from the email she sent back to me. and if anyone wants to see the entire email just let me know.
