Yes, unfortunately, I have. A guy standing next to me took a 7.62 round behind his left ear. Most of the back of his head disappeared. This is an image I shall never forget. But time has faded the image somewhat.
As with me, time will help "gloss over" that image and make it fade. It will never completely go away. Just remember, his death (I suppose) is not your fault and since it's after the fact there is nothing that can undo what you have seen. Meanwhile, occupy yourself with other activities, something that takes mental activity while time is passing.
Good luck.

Real life can be gruesome. I have seen some very graphic things that I won't describe because they left images in my head for years. When I was 10 years old, there were 2 boys got killed in a motorcycle wreck in front of my house.
It brings mortality closer. My thoughts are with you. :)

No, can't say I've had the privilege...I've seen a few people get shot before but they all survived and a couple of bodies that hadn't been picked up out the street yet, but never the actual act that caused a death, no.

Yikes! How horrible! My two experiences weren't bloody or icky. Maybe you should see a counselor for a while ... this type of thing could be terribly haunting. I once visited the car my dear friend died in, and I had nightmares about it for months.

Squashed: flies, mosquitoes, ants, centepids, head lice, snails, slugs, aphids, spiders
Burnt: dehydrated: leeches, worms, slugs
Killed by others:rabbits, mice, rats, deer, ducks, chickens, chicks
Sliced:chicken, duck, goat, sheep, buffalo, calf
I've actually witnessed goat, calves and sheeps beeing sliced standing and alive for sacrifices or for food....does this count???
