It depends, find a website for your local (county or city) government to be sure. Even if it is legal in Colorado there may be local regulations... 6 feet seems a little extreme, especially for Colorado which is (as far as I know) a bit more lax on exotic pet regulations... Where I live (Illinois) the max. legal size is 14 feet (I think).

Ask your city counsel that you live in or state odnr. My city is 20 feet and none for county (this is for non posionous snakes) Alot of places don't alow them at all unless you have a permit. I just had to fight about this a couple of years ago. I got to keep my 4 snakes.

i think that it is required in all states due to a total moran who had a larger snake and not using his brain to hold the snake that size proper has made it required to either donate them to a zoo or go through hell getting a license.

no you just have to keep it in a cage that is 2 times as big as the snake

i live in Illinois and i contacted my city hall about permits for my pythons they directed me somewhere else and said as long as they were under 6 feet i did not need a permit so check with your city hall
