The only person I remember hearing, sing this song, is Dezi Arnez, altho. I have heard instrumental versions, at times. I can only remember a few lines. " At the close of the day, when I'm without you. All the stars seem to say, odd things about you. You take a star and lead it far away from heaven, and the star it is lost, as I'm lost without you".

I'm so lonely and blue
When I'm without you
I don't know what I'd do
Sweetheart, without you
The joy and tears that love endears
Would have no meaning
If I didn't have you
To keep me dreaming

At the close of each day
When I'm without you
And my heart kneels to pray
I pray about you
You take a star
And lead it far away from heaven
And the star will be lost
As I'm lost without you

In case nobody on here knows the song, you could try the following:

Go to "ask.com" (and others, although this one has gotten results for me) and type in the lyrics or else type in whatever part of them seems most unique, and the song may come up.

There are also sites for "old song lyrics". You could try a search for "1940's lyrics" and "1950's lyrics".

You could search "Desi Arnaz songs" and see if, by a process of elimination, you could figure out which song it may be - and then do a search for the title of the song if you're interested in knowing more about it (who else recorded it, what company recorded it, etc.)

I was shocked the first time I tried just typing in the lyrics and getting the song right back from a search.

There was a woman who wrote all kinds of lyrics for all kinds of songs from - like - the 1920's to the 1970's. Dorothy Fields (I'm pretty sure that's her name.) I found out that she wrote lyrics for what seems like all the songs I'd ever heard of from before the 1960's. Its a shot in the dark, but there's a website with her lyrics and songs on it.
