Good question, I am staunchly anti abortion, and the only thing that I can think of is that they really don't see the baby as being a baby. They are either ill educated about fetal development, or they truly are selfish and just don't want to give up their personal freedom for their baby. Either way, ignorance and selfishness can be righted and it is up to them to correct themselves. I was pro choice untill I had children, sometimes it takes a miracle to change. Sometimes, our pride gets in the way and no one likes to admit they were wrong, and they defend their point like dogs backed in to a corner. All we can do is educate and pray. And, if that dosen't work, maybe they should be the ones ripped to shreads with a vacuum...perhaps that would change their mind!!

That's such convoluted logic.....that's not what they are supporting. Abortion is and should be a moral issue, NOT a legal one. Whether one has an abortion or not should between the people involved, the God they pray to, and the medical professionals in charge of the case. The law and the rest of society should stay out of it.

Why don't conservatives support birth control? Why don't you see that Bush has caused the murder & maiming of countless innocent children in Iraq? Or is that OK because they're Iraqi children? (a little foot-note........I am pro-choice. I became pregnant in spite of using birth control. She will be 28 soon. That's where the "choice" part comes in)

Murder is defined as the intentional killing of another human being. A human being is defined as a bipedal mammal capable of the species homo sapiens, or "knowing man". The defining trait of the species is that a human being is capable of independent thought. To be capable of independent thought one must be an individual (ie, self aware), and at this point in history we have no evidence that fetuses are self aware (or even bipedal until birth). If that evidence can be found, there would be a legal and ethical argument made that abortion is murder. People have been looking for it for over thirty years now though and haven't had any success yet. I wish them luck in looking! It would be nice to have the bickering over this subject put to rest once and for all.

Only if the fetus is viable outside the mothers womb is that charge made and most abortions are against the law at this stage also don't make up slanted right wing lies.

And why should the government be involved in the life of a women. Isn't what a women does with her body a private thing between her her husband or boyfirend and the doctor. I didn't know that the government was in charge of women's bodies and what they do with them.

let me turn your question around "Why do Republicans not adopt all the innocent childern that the Democrats are going to slaughter?" How many do you want, we will but you on the list for HOW MANY???????????????????????

When is the last time a conservative Republican offered a real solution, other than cutting spending and taxes?

Even a dummy like me can think of at least three solutions: educating adsolescents about sexual health, promoting birth control and supporting foster families and adoption.

Please tell us about the conservative Republican record on all three counts. Hint: there is nothing to tell.

The double murder charge isn't always the case.

So then, why is it that R's support capital punishment + war mongering? R's care about the unborn but couldn't care less once they're born.

It's funny...You tell us not to compare the death penalty to abortion, yet I've seen you do the very same thing. Can't have it both ways numbnuts.
