What means "to stop the world" in the book of Carlos Castaneda?

I read it few days ago, and this phrase has been bugging me all the time.

It has been a long time since I read it, but I believe the expression is equivalent to "be here now" or to "be in the moment". It is that special time/place where thought and action merge and nothing else exists, hence, stopping the world.
