Are there any really good horror movies where the people in them don't keep making really stupid mistakes? If you watch a lot of horror films you probably know what i mean...

Know EXACTLY what you mean:
Some terrified teenage girl is locked all alone in a spooky mansion...she's just seen her best friend terribly mutilated...there's a HORRID noise coming from upstairs (sounds like a grizzly bear roaring with his foot caught in a trap, with a lot of yowling and banging and breaking and snarling thrown in) So she heads straight up the staircase..."Johnny...is that you? Stop playing, now, Johnny....I mean it!"

Other movie "traditions" that are almost as stupid:
The two dozen bad guys in the martial arts movies, always attacking the hero one man at a time.
The devious villain who can't resist explaining to James Bond EXACTLY what he's up to...and leaving Bond all trussed up to die some gruesome, complicated death...instead of just shooting him in the forehead.

Begs the question: Who's the more stupid...the directors making these films, or those of us who continue to watch them?

Let me recommend a favorite horror flick of mine: The Other, based on a Thomas Tryon novel. It's an old "made for TV" movie, starring John Boy Walton. You have to watch it closely...not a "boogers and blood" type flick, but more of a psychological flick.

I think the 'stupid' mistakes help in enhancing the horror of the movies. People are horrified by how the foolishness or carelessness of certain actions result in something bad in those movies.

There aren't a whole lot of stupid mistakes in "The Grudge".
(Although, personally, I just don't like it 'cause it's a horror movie. My friends made me watch it.)

Final Dest. 1-3 they try not to make mistakes, but it is hard to find one, considering that is what scary movies are based on. Exorcist is my closest pick. 3 good ones to see though
1: Wrong Turn
2: BOO
3: Necronumirocron
