Does anyone know how I would go about becoming a mystery shopper for the likes of Mamas And Papas of any other large chain stores? I've looked on Mamas and papas website, but there is no mention of mystery shopper jobs?

I think you have to have worked within that industry for a certain amount of time, before you have been proven trustworthy enough of becoming one of their mystery shoppers.

Hi,

Mystery shopping is actually quite a lucrative business and there are courses available. There's a business publisher called 'Avril Harper' who does a very good manual on the subject. I think her publishing company is called 'Canonbury Publishing'. You'll have to put it in the search engines and look for it. She's very well known, so you shouldn't have a problem. If you do have a problem..get back to me and I'm sure I can find it. Hope this is helpful. I think the reason you're not finding anything is because the stores don't usually employ mystery shoppers. They're usually from an outside source...individuals and companies.

Forget about most money-making websites, if this is a UK question just visit the website of the Market Research Association, follow their links page and you get all the major market research companies who you then apply to directly with your CV. I worked for a market research company for a while on the admin side and we employed lots of mystery shoppers. There isn't big money in it but a lot of people seemed to enjoy it and got a regular if small income. The ability to send in your report in decent English is a plus.

These jobs usually are advertised by agencies who do the recruitment. I know the Wilkinsons store uk advertise on their website. You could always write to the stores head office and im sure they will respond as you are showing an interest in their company. Browse the web also you should get plenty of useful links to mystery shopping recruitment agencies.

They are not employed by the department stores. Outside agencies employ people to do these mystery shops with the norm being 3-4 different shops a day- not normally with the one shop.
Any that i have seen advertised offer positions on a casual part time basis. I cannot however think of any of their names- sorry.
Good luck with your search.

Mystery shoppers work for a seperate company, not the actual shop that they will be working in

Wear dark glasses, a long coat, and a big hat while you shop. Oh and only pay with cash, not credit, then it won't be a mystery who you are.
