by asserting your superiority over others through mediums such as Yahoo Answers?

Each participant would have to, naturally, respond to this question from the perspective of his/her own personal sense of self, since this is not an impersonally focused question.

My wonderment is triggered by the term " asserting". I do not get a sense that this term is non-intentional relative to an accusatory motive in its usage. Mainly because this term is improper relative to the nature of the medium. The only way to "assert" superiority over another would be via physical force... assuming that all on Yahoo Answers are capable of thinking for themselves... which I do assume, and suspect others would as well.

So, other than projecting an assertion undifferentiated as to cause, what is the point of this question?

Yes I derive feelings of superiority especially over someone that doesn't realize there is a spell check.
Importance is spelled,i.m.p.o.r.t.a.n.c.e.
Human beings are social animals who interact with one another on many planes. sometimes for no other reason than interaction.
Usually there is no feeling of superiority.
anti- social people would do a lot of accusing.
Being superior, I expect that of an anti-social personality. remember you are asking this question in the section that specifies, psychology. I majored in something like that.
I have a lot of fun on this site. If someone asks a serious question, I really do try to help.
If someone asks a question that I can use my humor on, I love it, I like to laugh.

It doesn't make me feel important, but if the question is asked and I have an answer I'll give it. Isn't that the point? I give answers based on personal experience, belief, opinion, and instinct. What about you? Does this make you feel important? No one is superior here. It can be fun and serious depending on the question. I can do both, can you?

No, mostly a feeling of frustration and sadness that there are so many ill-informed people. Have you noticed that the ones with the least amount of knowledge are the ones who are the most sure of what they know?

I often feel insecure about my level of knowledge. Especially because the more I learn, the more I feel uninformed.
